Product Reviewed: Ninja Foodi Airfyer 8 in 1 Oven Pro – SP201

Where to Get Product: You can find the Ninja Air Fryer on Amazon

I bought the Ninja Foodi Air fryer Pro on Black Friday 2021 with high hopes. It stood out because I could flip it up and out of the way when I was not using it—saving precious counter space. In my opinion, saving counter space and looks cleaner and more aesthetic.

I have had many great experiences with the Ninja blender, so I figured the ninja brand air fryer oven would be just as good. Initially, I was amazed, but after about a few months of use, I quickly became disappointed with the many things I experienced with the oven.

Ninja Foodi Air Fyer Oven Cons

  • It cannot cook whole chickens like other ovens in its category because it is short.
  • Sometimes the food is cooked unevenly. For example – Cookies on one side were darker than the ones on the opposite side.
  • When it is flipped up, if there is any oil whatsoever, it drains out the back of the oven onto your countertop. As a result, I had to clean the oil from the counter and the back of the Ninja oven.
  • Hard to clean. The air fryer basket always got food stuck between the crisscross wires. I tried to clean the inside of the oven with a multi-surface cleaner and Dawn Power Dish spray, but it became discolored with light and dark spots. I tried oven cleaner, but it only worsened it.
  • The basket, rack, pan, and drip tray became discolored after a few uses and washes. Shortly after the discoloration, I noticed that the coating was coming off. At the time, the only thing I had cooked was bacon, reheated some appetizers, and a few other things, but nothing too odd. And I used dawn dishwashing liquid with a dish sponge or rag.
  • The drip tray got stuck in the oven, and I tried multiple ways to remove it, but it would not budge!

Final Thoughts

I grew to love the Ninja brand because of its great blenders. My love for the blenders prompted me to expand to try the Ninja Foodie 8-in-1 Air Fry oven. I gave the Ninja a fair shot for almost a year, but about a month from the 1 year anniversary of using it,  I officially gave up on it.

This year for black, I purchased the NUWAVE Bravo Air Fryer. I am crossing my fingers and toes that this particular Air Fryer will make up for the hurt I felt in my heart from the failure of the Ninja Air fryer.

-Peace out
